POLICE officers were at railway stations and parts of the network across Furness this morning.
Witnesses reported seeing officers at Barrow and Askam stations.
A Cumbria Constabulary spokesperson said: "Cumbria Constabulary have worked with a number of partner agencies as part of a transport operation. The operation was completed safely with no impact on members of the public.”
It is believed a shipment of nuclear waste was being moved from Sellafield to Barrow docks.
