Goat willow (Salix caprea)
LIBRARY visitors will be given a free sapling this week as part of National Tree Week.
Millom Library has 60 Goat Willow saplings to give away on Thursday between 2pm and 5pm.
The saplings are only available to library members.
To be eligible you will need to bring your library card (if you’re not already a member you will need to join prior to collecting – it’s free) and then pledge to post a picture of your planted sapling to the Whitehaven Library Facebook page.
Saplings will be handed out on a first come, first served basis.
National Tree Week is the UK’s largest annual tree celebration, marking the start of the winter tree planting season (November to March each year).
