A ROAD closure in Millom has been issued with works expecting to last five days.
This notice came into operation from November 18, and will affect Lonsdale Road Back Lane, from its junction with Queen Street to its Earl Street junction.
Millom Town Council have suggested an alternative route for vehicles that will be signed and available via Earl Street, Lonsdale Road and Queen Street.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
The letter issued by Cumbria County Council, said: "Notice is hereby given that to allow Cumbria Highways to carry out urgent carriageway repair works. Cumbria County Council prohibits with immediate effect the passage of vehicle traffic along that section of Lonsdale Road Back Lane, Millom from its junction with Queen Street to its junction with Earl Street, as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
