THREE friends who were christened together more than 80 years ago have been reunited as Freemasons.
In 1938 in a church in Colton, people witnessed the christening of Alan McDougall, Walter Phillipson and Rowley Saunders. Now 81 years later the trio were together again as Alan was made head of the Newby Bridge Masonic Lodge. Rowly is a member of the Lodge of Furness whileWalter belongs to the Thurston Lodge. They were among the 80 members and visitors at the event in the masonic hall situated within the grounds of the Newby Bridge Hotel.
