A 72-YEAR-old man who was rescued from a major fire near Broughton is still in a ‘serious but stable’ condition in hospital, said police.
Arthur Braithwaite was rescued from the fire at Lady Hall but his 69-year-old wife Cath tragically died.
Emergency services from across Cumbria were called to the farm at 8.55am on Wednesday.
The tragedy has shocked those living in the rural community.
Joint inquiries are under way involving police and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service.
