Barrow AFC’s match against Dover Athletic at Holker Street this afternoon will be delayed after severe disruption to the visitors’ journey from Kent to south Cumbria.

As of yet, there is no confirmed time as to when the game will kick off, although the Bluebirds are doing everything possible to ensure it goes ahead.

Dover are one of several southern National League teams, along with Sutton United and Dagenham & Redbridge, affected by the long delays due to an incident between Watford and Milton Keynes.

The Whites have now cleared the worst of this, but it soon became clear that they would not make it to Barrow in time for the original 3pm kick-off.

AFC’s eagerness to get the game on is understandable, as they are expecting a crowd as large as 3,000 inside the ground after reducing ticket prices for Non-League Day.
