A woman born with two wombs, two cervix and two vaginas has defied the odds by becoming a mum.

Eleanor Rowe, 36, only discovered her unique anatomy five years ago when she went to freeze her eggs and a sonographer found her second womb.

The 3D scan showed an abnormality which led doctors to believe Eleanor had a double uterus.

But it was only when doctors carried out an investigatory procedure they realised she actually had the rarer form of uterus didelphys - two wombs, cervix and vaginas.

Eleanor underwent a corrective procedure to cure the one in a million condition, but doctors warned she faced a 90 per cent chance of miscarrying.

But now she has welcomed Imogen Hope - who she carried in her left womb - with husband Chris.

Eleanor from Ranskill, Nottinghamshire, said: “I just can’t believe she’s actually here.

“She stubbornly made it to 35 weeks - despite what the doctors said. Although it was an early labour.”

Baby Imogen Rose was delivered via c-section at 35 weeks, weighing 5lb 7oz ,

“But even with my condition there was a happy ending," she said. “I just want to give other women a bit of hope."
