DESPITE the bad weather, the 2nd Division playoffs of the Ulverston and District Bowling league went ahead at Lindal BC on Sunday September 22.
The competition resulted in a win for in-form home bowler, and current All England Junior Champion, Callum Sharples.
He was very rarely pushed throughout the day, with only one of his opponents able to gain a double figure score against him before his eventual win.
On his way to victory, Callum saw off competition from the likes of David Coverdale of West Shore 21-8, Harry Dagger of Dalton CC A 21-5, Tony Woods of Hawcoat Park A 21-11 in the quarter final, Liam Tomsett of Kings Head 21-5 in the semi-final and Martin Ryder of Dalton CC A 21-3 in the final.
