SUNSHINE beamed on parkrunners this weekend with plenty of people turning up ready to take on the 5km courses.

A special mention was given to Barrow Park’s Cafe Pavilion by organisers for always opening for them no matter the week or weather.

First to cross the finish line in Barrow was Andrew Dorian on 16.59, second place was taken by Cameron Bell on 19.04 and Sean Roberts took third on 19.29.

Sarah Bouffler had a time of 23.05 propelling herself to the first place spot, second in the ladies was Louise Tidbury on 23.51 and taking third place was Joanna Barnard on 24.15.

Ulverston’s Ford Parkrun also saw a wonderful turn out this week.

The top three men all took new personal bests this week.

First was Craig Miller on 19.39, second on 20.00 was Luke Turner and third on 20.15 was Jeff Chadwick.

First for the women was Tanya Blake on a respectable new personal best of 20.27, followed by Heather Travis on 23.05, who was then followed by Liz McNally on 23.28, also a new personal best.

Millom Parkrun saw Sam Moore in first place for the men with a new personal best of 21.29, he was followed by Daniel King on 22.49, while Jonathan Bailey came third on 23.12.

Hannah Wright gained first place with 26.06, in second place was Rachael Read on 27.20 and in third was Nicola Swann on 28.58.

Lee Parrington won the men’s course at Fell Foot Parkrun on 17.11, second place was unfortunately not recorded however Harvey Lord took third place on 18.18.

For the women it was Caroline Lambert who crossed the finish line first on 18.25, she was followed by Amy Young on a new personal best of 20.23.

Amy was followed over the finish line by Sarah Saunders who also had a new personal best of 21.26.

All Parkrun organisers thanked the weekly volunteers who make the Saturday morning events possible.

People of all fitness levels are invited to take part in Parkrun. The 5km course can be walked, jogged or ran.

Furry friends can also be brought along and children are always welcome.

The events are free and start at 9am.
