Billy, 6, of Keighly, Yorkshire, recently presented a cheque to the group Save Grange Lido (SGL) during a recent open day. The youngster managed to fundraise £497 through events that he and his mum had organised.
He was inspired to raise as much money as he could to help restore the Grade II Listed attraction after being in awe of the derelict Lido on the promenade in Grange-over-Sands. The 6 year old aims to swim in the Lido by his 10th birthday.
SGL are now fundraising for the next stage of work to reopen the iconic pool. The groups plans will bring about the restoration of the historic Art Deco lido with the only 50 metre pool in Cumbria alongside a restaurant and leisure facilities.
Phil Bradby, SGL Chair said: "We are hugely grateful to everyone who has donated so far".
