A MAN appeared in court charged with stealing hundreds of pounds worth of items from a supermarket.
Christopher Dean Bolton, 28, was said to have taken £320 of merchandise from Morrisons in Barrow on August 1.
Appearing at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court on September 19, the defendant, of Winchester Street in Barrow, pleaded guilty to the charge.
Magistrates fined him £270 for the offence.
Bolton was also told to pay a £32 victim surcharge and prosecution costs of £85 for bringing the case to court.
