The weather stayed dry for parkrunners this weekend, with plenty of people turning up to take on the 5km courses.

A special mention was given to Conrad and Jose who took part in the Fell Foot Parkrun while celebrating their golden wedding anniversary.

First place among the men was unfortunately not recorded, however first timer Sean Warburton took second place with 17.43 and another newcomer Alfie Lloyd took third place with17.55.

First to cross the finish line in the women’s category was Scout Adkin with 18.19, second place was Bethan Everson in 19.29 and third being Sarah Smith on 20:34, which is a new personal best.

Barrow parkrun also experienced some great achievements.

Cameron Bell took first place with his new personal best of 18.46, Reuben Lindsay also went away with a new personal best, achieving second place on 19.02. Third place was taken by Ian Sadler on 19.03.

Amy Singleton took first place in the ladies with 21.22, while Sandra Garnett took second place with 22.15 and Karen Ann Maggio-Poyntz came in third with 23.15.

Ulverston's Ford Parkrun saw a great turn out this week.

First to cross the finish line for the men was Luke Turner with a new personal best of 20.17, in second place was first timer Scott Young on 20.32, while third place went to James Bailey with a time of 20.41.

First for the women was Jessica Bailey in 21.03, second was Joanna Bailey on 25.54 and third was Katie Fernandez on 26.27.

Tony Davis took first place in Millom’s Parkrun with 22.18, Jonathan Bailey took second place in 23.33, and he was followed across the finish line by Nicholas Schaffer on 25.17.

Holly Singleton won the women's course with 28.51, followed by Olivia Moore on 29.30, followed by Karen Moore with 31.17.

All parkrun organisers thanked the weekly volunteers who make the Saturday morning events possible.

People of all fitness levels are invited to take part in parkrun. The 5km course can be walked, jogged or ran.

Furry friends can also be brought along and children are always welcome.

The events are free and start at 9am.
