A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a collision in Cumbria.

The fatal incident happened at around 4.40pm yesterday and involved a Triumph motorcycle and a Peugeot van. 

It happened on the A683 at Middleton, near Sedbergh. 

The rider of the motorbike, a man from the area aged 27, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police say the driver of the van was not injured. 

The road was closed while emergency services were on the scene. 

An investigation has since been launched and officers are appealing for witnesses, or anyone who has any dashcam footage of the incident, to get in touch by calling 101.
