PUPILS at Sir John Barrow School are preparing for the annual Lantern Festival on Saturday.
Year Three teacher Sarah Branton is spearheading the project teaching the Ulverston schoolchildren how to work as a team to build a lantern.
The theme for this year’s annual festival is Fantastical Beasts.
The event promises to be as spectacular as 2018.
The Lantern Festival is one of Ulverston’s leading community events featuring a spectacular lantern procession through the streets.
Four separate parades converge on County Square in the town centre.
The procession times include four different processions will start from their assembly points in Ulverston and then merge in the County Square starting at 8.30pm.
The finale will be held at Ford Park.
The event is sponsored by Millom education company CGP Books.
Also sponsoring the event is Ulverston Town Council and South Lakeland District Council.
There will also be a fireworks finale at Ford Park at 9pm.
