TWO Barrow residents have been rewarded after volunteering their time to help keep Barrow town centre tidy.

During the summer months Brian Rose and Trevor Davis, tenants of Grange Crescent, volunteered to assist in removing weeds and generally helping to clean and tidy this area of the town centre.

A spokesman from Barrow Council's housing department said: “Their efforts have been rewarded by successful Rewarding Good Neighbour nominations and Brian is pictured collecting his thank you - £25 of Love2Shop vouchers.”

Every three months Barrow Council presents a resident who has made a difference to their community with £25 of shopping vouchers.

This is known as the Good Neighbour incentive.

They also run other schemes such as the Downsizing and Leave it Clean scheme.
