DUE to heavy rain the railway lines between Barrow and Preston are all blocked.
A spokesperson from Northern said: “Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.
“Disruption is expected to last until 9pm.
"Passengers are advised to listen for further announcements.”
Reports have identified an overflowed beck to be the cause.
One resident said: "Pennington Beck causing the problem according to guard on our train which has been sat at Ulverston for an hour."
