CUMBRIA Tourism has hailed the Dock Museum as a key asset to Barrow's visitor economy as it celebrates 25 years.
Rachel Tyson, Head of Marketing and Partnerships at Cumbria Tourism, called the Dock Museum a 'top-class attraction' helping to contribute towards the growth of tourism in Barrow.
She said: "It’s fantastic to see such an iconic tourist attraction as Barrow’s Dock Museum celebrate an landmark anniversary – 25 years is certainly an achievement.
"Not just a top-class attraction for visitors of all ages, showcasing the town and area’s fascinating history going back centuries, the museum is also a large draw for tourists.
"We have been working with Associated British Ports Barrow to attract more cruise tourism to the area, with the Dock Museum playing a key part in itineraries for passengers looking to make the most of their visit.
"Tourism in Barrow grew by over 4% in 2018 and the region has so much potential to attract visitors – we’re sure that the Dock Museum will continue to be at the centre of the town’s visitor economy for many more years to come."
