ASDA Store manager and community champion visited the Barrow Foodbank to find out about the difference a £20,000 donation from the Asda Fight Hunger Create Change programme is making to their work.
They met the project manager Anne Mills and saw how the investment from the Asda Foundation is funding a two-year contract for a Citizens Advice Bureau advisor to be on hand four hours a day throughout the week providing a "one-stop shop" for food bank clients in our community.
They will be giving advice on various topics relating to their personal circumstances, including benefits, issues with Universal Credit or referrals to other agencies.
