A SHORE rescue team is holding an open day to celebrate its 50th anniversary year.

Duddon Inshore Rescue is hosting their 50th anniversary year open day this month for members of the public to gain an insight into what the charity does.

The open day is an opportunity for the public to look round the boathouse, see all the organisation's equipment, learn a little more about what the inshore rescue do and understand the dangers of the sands and sea in the Duddon Estuary.

There will also be a resuscitation doll for people to try CPR on and refreshments available on the day.

All the proceeds from the raffle will all go towards the Duddon Inshore Rescue.

The event is hosted on Sharp Street, Askam and entry is free.

The open day is taking place on Saturday July 27.

All are welcome to attend.
