A RECORD number of team entries turned up for the annual charity dragon boat event on Windermere.

Dragon Bay, the yearly dragon boat race held on Windermere, took place last Sunday, with 15 teams competing head to head in a series of events.

The event, launched by Paddlers for Life Windermere, has grown year on year with the support of CBA Events.

With almost perfect conditions, Low Wood Bay Resort and Spa provided the venue, and the action-packed day saw teams compete head to head in a series of heats followed by the fiercely fought final race.

Other activities included the team Hakka which was performed in front of a crowd of over 350 and a tug of war competition.

Director, Tim Green, said: "We’re delighted with the response this year and the support, effort and commitment teams have shown.

"We appreciate how many charity event opportunities there are, so we’re grateful for those that have chosen to take part in Dragon Bay."
