In celebration of this week's Clean Air Day, schools, hospitals, workplaces and communities across the UK took part in events and campaigns to inspire people to take simple steps to protect their health and their families’ health from air pollution.
Cumbria County Council supported this initiative, issuing a variety of messages to all 6,500 members of staff with lots of tips and guidance for how we can all reduce our carbon footprint and improve air quality.
Other steps include using electric vehicles for staff to use to travel between sites and promoting a flexible working environment where people are encouraged to use Skype for meetings or to work from home.
