Detectives have tonight charged a man with the murder of Barrow taxi driver John MacMillan.
Officers charged 28-year-old Jonathan MacMillan with murdering the 70-year-old in a house on Provincial Street, Barrow, on Tuesday evening.
The Mail understands the accused, who will appear at South Cumbria Magistrates Court tomorrow, is the victim's son.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: "A 28-year-old man will appear at court tomorrow charged with the murder of 70-year-old Barrow man John MacMillan.
"Jonathan MacMillan, from Barrow, has this evening been charged with murder and will appear tomorrow at Furness Magistrates’ Court. He will remain in custody until the court appearance.
"The charge is in connection with an incident that occurred at an address in Provincial Street, in Barrow, on Tuesday evening."
