SOUTH Lakes MP has urged the housing secretary to tackle the housing crisis by limiting the rise of excessive second home ownership in the South Lakes.
South Lakes MP Tim Farron told the government that it is failing to meet the housing needs of young people in the South Lakes and ignoring the thousands of local houses sat empty as second homes.
It comes after the Resolution Foundation found that the number of British people who own a second home has doubled since 2001, while the number of millennials who own a home continues to fall.
