TODAY, Furness Carers will be celebrating its 25th anniversary by holding a Getting Carers Connected event at 10am onwards.
The care centre, in Nelson Street, is aiming to banish the isolation, physical and mental strains of being an unpaid carer.
One in seven Furness workers is caring for family or friends with an illness, disability, addiction or mental health problem.
This caring can impact on all aspects of life including relationships, health, finances and employment.
