A HOSPITAL trust is urging women to attend their cervical screenings as attendance hits 20-year-low.
Morecambe Bay Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is shedding light on the importance of cervical screenings ahead of Cervical Screening Awareness Week.
Cervical cancer affects around 3,000 women in the UK every year and is the most common form of cancer for women under the age of 35.
Cervical screenings are the best way to prevent cancer, however, three in ten women in the Morecambe Bay area are not attending their screening.
