PUPILS learned all about beaches as part of a jam-packed field trip.
Year Two children from Dalton St Mary's C of E Primary School witnessed the beauty and geography of the Furness coast - and captured the whole experience in photos and videos.
They ventured to some of the most picturesque areas of the Furness peninsula when they visited Bardsea, Roa Island, Earnse Bay and Biggar Bank.
Pupils looked at the beaches all on the same day and compared their geographical features.
At Bardsea, the pupils took photos, testing their perception of light and shade and interviewed each other in videos on the beach.
Mrs Croskery said the children were delighted seeing the "rolling waves" from Roa Island.
She said the walk from Earnse Bay to Biggar Bank was "exhilarating".
The end of last week also saw every child come together for a special father's day dinner.
Year 5 pupils Scarlett and Emma said: "It was a great success and the burgers and the hotdogs were delicious.
"There were lots of male family members there including dads, grandads, step-dads and uncles. "It was such a lovely day and the sun shone even though rain had been forecast.
"The children would like to thank the dinner ladies who made the day perfect and of course the wonderful teachers."
