AN ULVERSTON businessman has donated more than £100 to a local charity in memory of his dad.
F.Dickinson Footwear Ltd shop shop, which is set to close at the end of the month. has handed over £150 to St Mary’s Hospice.
David Gummers, the owner of F.Dickinson Footwear, has donated the proceeds from all unclaimed vouchers from the shop to the Ulverston hospice.
Mr Gummers explained his father spent time at the hospice during his battle with cancer and he wanted to repay the staff there with this donation.
Mr Gummers said: “Everyone at St Mary’s were just brilliant while my father was there.
“The whole place is magnificent and the staff are utterly brilliant.
“We had the credit notes that people hadn’t claimed and I wanted to give back to St Mary’s Hospice for everything they did for my father.”
