AFTER the success of Furness Prostate Cancer Support Group, Millom is holding its first group meeting to tackle prostate cancer.
The Pensioners Hall (Tin Chapel) will be holding Millom’s first three-hour group meeting on Thursday which starts at 3pm.
David Nutter, Millom group chairman, said: “Thursday will be used as an Open Day to see if enough people attend.
“With enough members, we could form a committee and create a long-term group with monthly meetings.
"Men find it difficult to talk about their feelings and there isn’t really any prostate groups in Millom, Bootle or Broughton, which are the areas we’d cover."
Mr Nutter has urged anyone in the Millom area with prostate cancer worries to attend and have a PSA test at Waterloo House Surgery, on Lapstone Road.
