RESIDENTS in Ulverston are excitedly awaiting the arrival of a family of young swans.
Walkers who visit Canal Foot have spotted a female swan sitting patiently on a nest by the water.
One passer-by has now managed to take a photograph which shows the expectant mum is due to welcome five cygnets.
After a swan has built a nest, which typically takes two to three weeks, she will lay her eggs over a three-period. Swan's eggs are incubated for around 42 days.
