A YOUNG girl has won the Elterwater Youth Hostel Easter eggs treasure hunt.
Taking place during the Easter holidays, Caitlin McKay was crowned the overall winner, which saw Lakes visitors invited to hunt for clues which were published by the hostel staff.
Map references were given, including Loughrigg fell, the pebble beach by Grasmere, Cathedral Cave and Slater Bridge in Little Langdale, and the High Close arboretum.
Hostel manager Nick Owen said: βItβs good to see a new generation read maps and find clues out in the landscape.β
