1 A theatre group is launching its production of hit musical, Footloose this weekend.

Award-winning Youth Theatre Company A590 present their 2019 production of Footloose.

Based on the classic movie starring Kevin Bacon, the show tells the story of a city boy trying to understand small-town USA.

The production began yesterday and will continue until Saturday.

The musical is also on tonight from 7.30pm as well as an afternoon performance tomorrow from 2.30pm.

2 Ulverston Walkfest returns with a jampacked schedule of events and walks for the whole family.

Celebrating it’s 20th year, Ulverston’s WalkFest offers 10 days of walks and events and entertainment.

The walking festival starts from Ulverston Town Hall at 10am this Saturday April 27 until Monday May 6.

3 Dalton Castle has officially opened its doors for the season.

The historic landmark will be open every Saturday between 2pm-5pm until the end of September.

Entry is free and donations are welcome.

4 The Furness Freemasons are performing a charity concert featuring a number of songs from the 1960s and 1970s as well as some of their own hit numbers.

The show starts at 6.30pm at the Coronation Hall in Ulverston.

5 Kick Off 4 Mental Health is hosting a knockout singing contest featuring some very special guest judges.

Eight local artists will go head to head in a knockout singing contest where they will be hoping to impress guest judges: Lifford Shillingford from Britain’s Got Talent and The Voice Stars, Jolan and Anna-Willison Holt.

The event starts at 7.30pm this Sunday at Hawcoat Sports Club.

6 Pennington Bike Nights continues this Tuesday for all bike enthusiasts to come along for an informal gathering.

The evening will be hosted at the Pennington Memorial Hall in Ulverston from 5pm-9pm.

7 Grange-Over-Sands is hosting an arts and crafts open event this Sunday.

Known as the biggest open air arts and crafts fair in the north, there will be up to 80 stalls selling fine art, ceramics, woodwork, metalwork, recycled, textiles and everything in between.

The event is on Grange promenade from 10am.

8 Trinity Church Centre is hosting a coffee morning this Saturday in aid of the Boxes of Hope Cumbria charity.

The aim of the morning is to fill shoe boxes with some useful and fun objects which will be sent to children living in desperate circumstances during Christmas time.

The event is from 10am-11.30am.

9 Ulverston Canal Easter Egg Trail continues this weekend.

Decorated plywood Eggs and Rabbits will line Ulverston’s canal towpath, created by local schools, businesses and shops.

10 Barrow Raiders are at home to Featherstone Rovers at Craven Park on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 3pm).

Paul Crarey’s side are looking for their first win since the opening day of the season.
