MILLOM'S Health Centre is holding an official opening ceremony on Friday 17 May after two years of renovation.
After Waterloo House GP Surgery relocated into Millom Community Hospital in 2014, renovation work started in 2017 to ensure the building was fit to meet the needs of the community.
The driving force behind the project to extend and renovate the building came from the Millom Alliance, which consists of representatives from University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Foundation Trust (UHMBT), Cumbria Partnership Foundation Trust (CPFT), Waterloo House GP Surgery and the community themselves who formed a group known as the Millom Health Action Group.
Sarah Gardner, Practice Manager of Waterloo House GP Surgery, said: "For years now as part of the alliance, partners including local people have been working together to develop better health care services within and around the town."
The official opening ceremony is invitation only.
