A YOUNG Barrow man passionate about music celebrated his 18th birthday despite his parents being told he would not live beyond 12-months-old.
Barrow's greatest showman, Harrison Holmes was the star of the show at his 18th birthday party held on Friday night at the Soccer Bar on Wilkie Road.
In a night filled with music, laughter and emotion, 195 guests alongside Harrison and his devoted family partied like they never have done before.
Born weighing just one pound he faced many medical conditions including: septicaemia, a brain haemorrhage and chronic lung disease and was also diagnosed with cerebral palsy. He was forced to rely on life support machines and doctors were so fearful they advised to turn off his life saving ventilator five times.
Defying all odds he performed alongside his dad Gary, brother Jake and two grandads as the Jersey Boys at his 18th birthday party. His brother also played with his band Deepsands, supported by bass player Carling and drum player Ronnie Johnston.
His mum Jo Holmes, mother of four, said: "It was better than we ever could have imagined and the memories will last forever.
"To see everyone there who had helped to care for him over the years was just an unbelievable experience."
