Michaelson Road Bridge in Barrow
THE bridge connecting Barrow Island with the town is set to be closed for one day.
Michaelson Road Bridge will be closed between 8am and 5pm on Sunday April 28.
The closure has been put in place to allow Associated British Ports to carry out routine maintenance and inspection works on the bridge.
The bridge was originally built in the 19th century and was replaced in the early 1960s.
During the closure traffic will be diverted around Barrow Island via Island Road, Ferry Road and North Road and back along Hindpool Road.
