INVESTIGATIONS are under way to find a man who stole a large sum of money from a home in Bootle.

The incident took place yesterday when a man was seen to be loitering around the gardens of a property in Summer Hill before entering it and stealing a large some of money from the occupant inside.

The victim was uninjured, said police.

They are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen this man.

He is described as a man in his 40s, of medium build, 5ft 11, white skin and fair-hair with sideburns.

He was believed to be wearing a dark coloured hat, black bodywarmer, black combat trousers and grey work boots.

It is possible that the man was driving a black Mitsubishi warrior pickup with red and yellow markings as well as some text along the bottom panels of the car.
