AN EVENING with Dan Snow is coming up at The Forum at Barrow on Wednesday (7.30pm) when the well-known historian and television presenter recount anecdotes of memorable experiences from his successful career as an historian and broadcaster. Son of BBC presenter Peter Snow and Canadian journalist Ann McMillan, Dan - known to millions of TV viewers as 'The History Man' - will also include historical facts and stories relating to the area. WORDS by the Water continues at Theatre by the Lake with Saturday's session including Great British Bake Off judge Prue Leith in the spotlight drawing on her lifelong passion for food. Prue gives a sneak peek into her own cooking and insights into her life. POPULAR Cumbrian poet Geraldine Green will be over at Coniston this coming Sunday in the Terrace Cafe at Brantwood for an afternoon of poetry over a good cup of coffee, from 3pm.
