THE next Furness Tradition show is coming up at Ulverston's Coronation Hall on Friday, March 15 (8pm) bringing two of the best traditional musicians around. Accordionist, Phil Cunningham, and fiddle player, Aly Bain, are consummate musicians, arrangers, producers and broadcasters in their own right well known far and wide. Together they produce probably the finest and purest of Scottish music combined with a deep knowledge and understanding of their traditions gained from long and extensive careers. PATSY Cline and Friends tribute show comes to The Forum at Barrow on Thursday, March 14 (7.30pm) and features powerful renditions of the country music stars' Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, and Sweet Dreams. Centre stage will be Sue Lowry, who has been a lifelong fan of Patsy Cline and country music, and has put together the special show that celebrates the power of her Patsy’s wonderful music. Joining Sue on stage in her Patsy Cline and Friends tribute will be Marc Robinson, well known for playing Buddy Holly. Box office 01229-820000.
BOLD, creative, and original, four-piece Tannara have established themselves as one of the UK’s most interesting and unique contemporary folk groups. On fiddle, harp, guitar, accordion and vocals, Tannara make an intensely considered electrifying musical world which is uniquely theirs.
