A MAN has been arrested after an alleged stabbing in Barrow.

Police were called to Lumley Street at 7.30pm on Valentines Day after a woman was allegedly assaulted with what the police described as a “bladed weapon.”

The alleged incident involved a 37-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man from Barrow.

The woman received minor injuries and the man has been arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a bladed article and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

This morning police tape was still at the scene.
