A WOMAN in her 20s was hurt in a collision between her car and a small herd of cows said Cumbria Police.
Drivers were warned to avoid the A5092 following the incident at around 7:20pm yesterday at Lowick Green.
Officers said the woman, who is local, was driving a Peugeot.
An ambulance crew attended the scene and the motorist went to hospital with head and hand injuries.
Following the incident, the farmer has told the police that he had to put down four of the cows involved.
The road was cleared by around 8:40pm.
