A SERIES of burglaries on Walney Island has prompted police to step up patrols.
Police are investigating reports of burglaries on a number of streets throughout January and February and have now warned homeowners to be on guard.
A spokesman said: "Just a heads up as we have had a few burglaries, in the afternoon and evening. Please keep an eye out for anyone hanging around.
"We will be increasing our patrols in the area."
