RESIDENTS from Barrow have been invited to attend a coffee shop to find out more about fostering.
Staff from Community Foster Care, an independent foster care agency, will be at Costa Coffee in Hindpool Retail Park, Barrow from 11am-1pm on Thursday February 7 to provide information and any answer questions about fostering.
Registered Manager Emma Weaver said: “We know there are people in Barrow who have thought about fostering but haven’t acted upon it.
“They may think they can’t foster but the opposite is usually true. There’s lots of training to get you started and loads of support every step of the way.”
There are more than 600 children in care in Cumbria in desperate need of a stable home.
Foster carers come from all walks of life, but must be over 25 and in generally good health.
