Barrow will be receiving a royal visitor on Thursday as the Princess Royal is set to meet some of south Cumbria’s most hard-working teams.

HRH Princess Anne will be visiting Cumbria to visit homeless support group Project John as well as Barrow Foodbank.

Project John is a supported housing project for young people aged 16-24 years, offering accommodation, training and support.

Barrow Foodbank provides emergency food to vulnerable people in crisis.

Princess Anne is an esteemed charity worker and is involved with more than 300 charities, organisations and military regiments across the UK and overseas.

Having visited Barrow numerous times before, the charity visit will allow Princess Anne to learn more about some of south Cumbria’s fantastic projects while meeting the dedicated volunteers involved.
