Larah Carbonell, year seven, wrote: “I joined ukulele club after the first two weeks of school when someone told me about the club.

“At first, playing the ukulele was hard because of how fast you had to move your fingers to different strings, but after weeks of practice it became easier.

“The first instrument I learned to play was the keyboard.

“I enjoy ukulele club because of the different songs we play and how it is always a challenge of when we start playing a new song.”

Daniel Donnelly, year seven, wrote: “I joined ukulele club on the first day.

“I thought it was interesting that the ukulele only had four strings because I am used to hearing six strings on a guitar.

“I learned to play the guitar and trumpet before the ukulele.

“I enjoy the club because it helps my fingers adjust quickly.

“The Christmas show was quite nerve-racking but fun at the same time.”

Kadie Athersmith , year seven, wrote: “I joined the club the first week it started.

“I found playing the ukulele fun as you are learning how to play songs that you can show to people like your family.

“Before learning to play the ukulele, I learned how to play the trumpet, cornet, tenor horn, trombone, and recorder at primary school.

“I enjoy the club as it is a great way to do new things and interact with some of your friends more.

“Performing in the Christmas show was amazing as we got to stand up and play everything that we have learned this year.”
