A TEENAGER from Barrow vowed to "cave in" the head of his ex-girlfriend.
Ben James Marshall, of Victoria Road, made the threat before assaulting the girl, who cannot be named because of her age.
The incident happened on December 15 at the girl's flat.
Marshall, 19, pleaded guilty to assault at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
The court heard a drunk Marshall had said: "I am going to cave your head in."
After punching the girl he said he would "do it again".
Marshall, representing himself, began to cry as he apologised in court for his behaviour.
"I've never laid a finger on her or anyone, I'm so, so sorry," he said.
"I've never done anything like this before. I shouldn't be here."
He was ordered to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work, pay £85 costs and £50 compensation.
