A PET food company has recalled a product after one of their pet foods tested positive for salmonella.
Avondale Pet Foods Ltd has recalled their Just Natural Chicken & Tripe because salmonella has been found.
The products affected includes batch number 104-6/14105/339 CT produced on 5 December 2018 and packs containing 20 x 454g and 8 x 1kg. No other products are known to be affected.
Salmonella is a bacterium that can cause illness in humans and animals, potentially causing fevers, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.
A spokesperson from the company has apologised "unreservedly" for any concern that this has caused. They have also told customers that a full refund will be issued when the product is returned to the place of purchase.
