USUALLY Father Christmas is seen traversing the night sky in his reindeer-powered sled.

But on his latest visit to Ulverston, the big man swapped his usual transport for a big red bus.

He parked the double decker, which featured a cafe on the bottom floor and a grotto on the top on the town's Market Street.

It was third time Santa had come for his weekend visits to the town and the first outing of his new bus.

And children were delighted to meet him this year as friend of Santa Grant Huck stood in on his behalf.

Crowds of excited children visited the bus to hear stories from Father Christmas and receive presents - but only if they had been nice this year.

He will also be in town for the remaining weekends in the run-up to Christmas.

Father Christmas will come back on December 15 and make his final visit on December 22, the last Saturday before Christmas.
