1 The Red Hot Chilli pipers will be performing at The Forum in Barrow tonight as part of their tour the UK. The two time winner of Scottish Live Act of the Year are known for their twist on popular music using bagpipes will be playing the hits in Barrow which include 'Smoke on the Water' and 'We Will Rock You'. Tickets cost £25 per person and doors open at 7.30pm. The event will be likely to entertain both new and returning fans of the piping band.

2 Dalton's Christmas Tree festival begins this weekend as we enter the Christmas season. This years theme for the event is 'What A Wonderful World'. The festival showcases over 50 Christmas trees, each decorated to be themed around a different charity of choice. Some of this years highlights are trees decorated in Remembrance Day poppies and another decorated with Lego bricks. Dalton's tree festival is in its 17th year this year and has become a notable date for the Christmas calendar. The event will be open every weekend through December from 2pm till 5.30pm, as well as being open 2pm till 4pm Boxing day. There will also be choirs from different schools performing at the festival throughout the month.

3 South Lakes Safari are giving families the chance to sit down with Santa after a three course meal at their Maki restaurant. For £15 per person people will be treated to a Christmas dinner followed by a meeting with Santa and a day in the safari park. Along with all this is also wristbands giving families the chance to feed giraffes and lemurs at the park. It must be noted that the tickets for this event do not include entry to the safari park and must be purchased separately to entry tickets.

4 Haverthwaite and Lakeside Railway are also offering a chance to meet Santa aboard their traditional railway. The hour and a half return journey up the railway includes presents for children and seasonal drinks for parents. Santa will be on the train greeting all it's passengers personally as he hands out presents to children. The event is on all weekend with trains leaving at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are available for £13.50 plus a £1.50 booking fee. There will not be a discount for children or under fives due to the nature of the event.

5 Barrow Library is hosting a children’s craft fair on Saturday from 10.30am until 11.30am. The event is aimed at children between six and 11 and they will have a chance to make crafts themed around their favourite books and authors. Places are limited but can be booked on the Barrow Library website free of charge.
