TIM Chu and Ian Bailey grew up listening to Simon and Garfunkel tunes with both the composition and vocal blend having a strong influence on their respective professional careers. After years of busy individual touring schedules both Tim and Ian have now found the time to concentrate on delivering the music of Simon and Garfunkel in their own unique way that also honours the original recordings; they don't want to fall into the regular tribute act category.

Come Friday, December 14 (8pm), the two talented professional singer songwriters take to the Beggar's Theatre at Millom stage with their highly regarded A Celebration of Simon and Garfunkel show.

Tim has played music for as long as he can remember. A multi-instrumentalist and music graduate, and as well as other performance work, Tim has composed music for radio, television and film and has had interests in other successful media projects. Some of the first songs that he ever remembers listening to were Paul Simon compositions as the original albums were never off his parents' record player.

Tim has both enjoyed performing these great songs and says he looks forward to meeting and sharing stories with real music lovers at each concert.

In 2012 Ian finally decided to put some time aside to leave the studio, where he has spent a decade helping and producing a variety of singer songwriters, and to take to the road with Tim as one half of A Celebration of Simon and Garfunkel.

(He has written and produced three solo albums and is currently writing material for a fourth).

He says the songs of Simon and Garfunkel have always been a major influence on his own songwriting, and fondly remembers late nights listening to his father’s transistor radio tuned into Radio Luxembourg and hearing America for the first time. "It was everything I loved about songwriting - where the melody and words effortlessly combine and produce real magic.

"Having the opportunity to sing and play the music of the iconic duo is a wonderful experience, whether it’s taking people back down memory lane or introducing a younger generation to the music of Simon and Garfunkel, performing and celebrating their songs is simply a joy."
