IT is hard to imagine what sort of person can just abandon a baby rabbit in a park, but they are out there.

Little black and white George was found on his own in Fell Foot park near Windermere/Bowness at only around six weeks old.

The black and white male rex rabbit was tiny and covered in fleas when he was rescued, but he is much bigger now, a lot healthier and just four weeks off from being ready to go to his forever home.

He is very friendly and always happy to greet people when they come into his pen. George loves being stroked and is easy to pick up.

Although not fully grown yet, the RSPCA, whose care he is in, say he will be a medium to large sized rabbit when fully grown.

As George is a rex breed of rabbit, his fur is velvet soft and his whiskers are curly.

George loves being fed fresh vegetables and would make a wonderful addition to any family.

The charity has neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped him and he has also been treated for worms and fleas.

Rabbits are very social animals so the RSPCA is looking for a home where George will be living with another neutured male or female rabbit who he will be able to bond with.

He can be bonded with another rabbit already in his new home or another rescue rabbit.

For further details or to arrange a visit to meet George please call Mandy, an RSPCA rabbit fosterer, on 01229 582 220.
