LAKE District National Park are considering the possibility of letting people make contactless card donations.
The new system would allow people to give money via the contactless feature on bank cards, along with the traditional way of putting money in a box.
Lake District Foundation Director, Sarah Swindley said: "We know that people love the Lake District and want to help us look after it.
"We also know that people are carrying less cash with them and we are keen to understand how new technology can help."
At the moment the plans are under proposal, although LDNP, LDF and their partner Cumbria Tourism are wanting the public opinion.
Managing Director of Cumbria Tourism, Gill Haigh said: "When asking our visitors to part with their money, we understand the process needs to be quick, simple and convenient.
